OUR STORY
How It All Started
Liam, my first cousin, was shot and killed on December 13th 2020.
One word to sum him up is love. This was evident at his wake which nearly 500 people attended. In his short life he impacted so many people and it brought tears to my eyes. He was a special kid from day one. My great aunt called him "advanced".
My cousin had the privilege to attend catholic school- St. Edwards and then Catholic High all in New Iberia, LA. He was also active in his church growing up. His faith based education along with his family taught him about Jesus and the importance of faith. He had this as he enjoyed doing for others. He was a hard worker and a great student. As Christians, we are called to walk in love like Christ. Liam did this.
He lived as Christ would want and I know he is in heaven now- in paradise. Live Like Liam was the brainchild of two of his friends- Carolina and Kate. With their permission along with my aunt and uncle's blessing,
I have turned Live Like Liam into a 501c3. I plan on raising money as I train for a half marathon (13.1 miles. Liam was born on the 13th day, died on the 13th day and was the 13th grandchild on his mother's side).
As I do this, I am going to raise money to give to faith-based education and other youth programs. I want other kids to experience the love and support Liam did. I plan on continuing to run races and fundraise.
